Sponsor A Golden - Leah

$25.00

In late December 2023, this sweet little Golden girl was hit by a car and spotted by a Good Samaritan limping along 465 in Indy.  The Good Samaritan rushed her to a nearby emergency vet clinic, and the clinic contacted IACS.  IACS then contacted GRRACE.  She’s approximately 6 months old, wasn’t microchipped, had no tags, and the owner didn’t come forward during the stray hold.  Our intake team went into overdrive to make things happen!

We’ve named this precious girl Leah, a play on Leigh which is Celtic for healer…and Leah has lots of healing to do.  Medically she has a compound fracture of the radius on one leg and a mild fracture of the ulna on the other leg where it was dislocated and put back in.  A fracture that involves the growth plate has also been found.  Since she is a puppy she will require surgery on both of those legs.

One of our veterinary partners is fostering sweet Leah, so she has the best foster home to see her through the surgeries and necessary months of rehab.  We are so thankful for our GRRACE family and vet partners!  As you can imagine, Leah’s medical expenses will be well over $15,000 by the time she’s healed and available for adoption.  We’ll update Leah’s story as she goes through the surgeries, heals, and gets stronger with rehab sessions.  Would you consider helping Leah and GRRACE by sponsoring her?

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Sponsoring a GRRACE dog gives their forever-home dreams a chance to come true. Each GRRACE golden comes to us with needs. Some are simple, like a vet check-up and food in their foster home. Many are more complex, with costs for medical treatments, spay/neutering, and long term foster care. Often, the costs of our foster dogs are much more than the adoption fee we ask from adopters.

Through this donation service, you can sponsor one of the Goldens currently in foster care.

When you sponsor a Golden, your sponsorship greatly helps to offset the cost of caring for that Golden from the day they arrive until they jump in the car, give their foster parents a lick good-bye, and never look back.
